Get help with meals
Bellyful is a national non-profit organisation helping New Zealand parents by delivering frozen, precooked meals to families with newborns and families struggling with illness. Simple tasty meals, like spaghetti bolognese, macaroni cheese and lasagne, are prepared by volunteers at Cookathons at one of 17 active, independent branches throughout NZ.
Contact is via a local branch coordinator, and you can refer a friend or yourself, volunteer your time or donate to your local Bellyful branch.
Fuelled by volunteer power
Multiples Hutt Valley is fuelled entirely by donated time and energy from multiples parents who are also members of the club themselves.
We are a supportive and inclusive team where everyone’s contributions are valued. If you would like to join us in the important work we do, please get in touch.
Government assistance
There is government help for parents of multiples that can provide financial support.
Home Help payments
These payments are available to help families who have given birth or adopted twins and have another child under the age of five years, or have given birth or adopted triplets or higher order multiples. The support is towards the cost of home help, such as cleaning, cooking and doing the laundry.
Working for Families tax credits
Inland Revenue offers four types of payments for families with dependent children 18 years or younger. As a family with new multiples, you may be entitled to these payments, which depend on the age and number of dependent children you care for, your total family income and where it comes from.
Help with childcare costs
Ministry of Education and WINZ payments can help make quality childcare more affordable for multiple families. These payments depend on the size of your family, your income, and how many hours a week your child goes to the daycare.
Additional financial support
A range of extra financial support is available:
-
Accommodation Supplement
-
Temporary Additional Support
-
Special Needs Grant
-
Transition to Work Grant
