Fun Projects for School Holidays

School holidays are a great opportunity to teach children about kindness, empathy, and community spirit. Encouraging kids to get involved in charity can be both rewarding and fun, helping them develop a sense of social responsibility while keeping them engaged in meaningful activities. Here are some simple and enjoyable ways families can get involved during the school break.

1. Host a Charity Bake Sale

Baking together is always a hit with kids! Organise a bake sale in your neighborhood, at a local community centre, or even online. Let children help with baking, decorating, and selling treats, and donate the proceeds to a charity of their choice. This is a great way to combine creativity with giving back.

2. Declutter and Donate

School holidays are a perfect time to sort through toys, books and clothes. Encourage children to choose items they no longer use but are still in good condition to donate to local share shelves or family support groups. Explain how their donations can bring joy to other children, making the process more meaningful.

3. Get Creative with Fundraising

From art sales to sponsored challenges, kids can use their talents to raise funds for charity. They could paint pictures, create handmade crafts, or even set up a storytelling event for friends and family. Older children might enjoy planning a sponsored walk, read-a-thon, or bike ride to raise donations.

4. Learn and Spread Awareness

5. Get involved with Multiples Hutt Valley

Multiples Hutt Valley is 100% volunteer run, so support from any age makes a huge difference. You and your children could volunteer to raise funds for MHV support packs, help at one of our events, or host your own playdate event.
